Libby joined the Board in October 2005 and was appointed President in October 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and was admitted to practice law in 1984.
She is currently Chair of Basketball Western Australia and Chair of the National Basketball Tribunal. Libby is also a member of the Integrated Fisheries Association. She has thirty years’ experience within the Western Australian judicial system and since 2000 has served as Deputy Chief Magistrate for Western Australia, having previously worked in the Office of the Department of Public Prosecutions and Crown Law Department.
Libby has a lifelong passion for sport and in particular basketball. Throughout her professional and voluntary roles, Libby has demonstrated high level broad based management, communication, organisational and extensive community engagement skills.
Libby is a member of a range of different professional associations, including the Law Society of Western Australia.
John joined the Board in October 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University Western Australia and a Masters of Business Administration from Edith Cowan University.
He is Chairman of the Rottnest Island Authority, Chairman of Curtin University School of Marketing Business Advisory Board and Deputy Chairman of Trinity College. John has held the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer with Marketforce since 2003 after commencing as Group Media Director in 1989 and later progressing to the position of Managing Director.
He is particularly skilled in the areas of business strategy and development, brand strategy, media strategy and campaign development. He is a member of a number of professional associations including the Australian Institute of Company Directors, World Presidents Association, Communications Council of Australia and the Western Australian branch of the Australian Institute of Managers.
Justin Eveson, OAM
Justin joined the Board as Secretary in October 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Western Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Edith Cowan University.
He is an ambassador for the West Australian Disability Services Commission’s ‘Count Me In’ project and provides motivational and disability awareness speaking services to organisations and clubs. Justin is currently employed as a full time Primary School Teacher and has a passion for increasing the level of physical activity amongst young people.
He has an in-depth knowledge of the Associations’ operations, gained as a former employee and member for over 15 years. Justin is also a four-time Paralympian and gold medallist at the Beijing 2008 games, in the sport of Wheelchair Basketball.
With over a decade’s experience as an elite amateur and professional athlete, Justin understands the complex issues faced by athletes with a disability.
Scott joined the Board as Treasurer in April 2013 and he holds a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Accounting from Edith Cowan University.
Scott is currently a director of Jupiter Energy Limited, InterMet Resources Limited, Planetary Power Australia Pty Ltd and Company Secretary / Chief Financial Officer for Rift Valley Resources Limited and IDM International Limited. Scott was previously an Associate Director of Capital Investment Partners, an organisation delivering merchant banking and financial advisory services. Through his private company, Scott also currently provides corporate advisory services to private and public companies.
Scott previously held the position of Assistant Company Secretary at Integrated Group Limited (now Programmed Maintenance Services Limited). With over 15 years in the finance industry working predominantly with public companies, both on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange, Scott has a strong background in corporate compliance, finance, statutory financial reporting and shareholder/member communication. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Governance Institute of Australia.
Simon is an experienced finance executive and has contributed to the strategic and operational outcomes of the listed companies that he has been worked for over the last 20 years. Currently the Executive General Manager for Programmed Marine, Simon has previously held the roles of Executive General Manager Commercial and Finance for the Marine and Workforce divisions, along with Commercial Management and Corporate Finance roles. These roles have included representation on a joint venture board for a period of 4 years.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Australia and is a Certified Practising Accounting. Simon is a fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Through his family, Simon has been involved with Wheelchair sports WA over the last 5 years and is keen to make a greater contribution to the organisation through the board role.
