/ Table Tennis
Para Table Tennis players use the same world-class techniques as their non-disabled colleagues and it is great for developing hand–eye coordination and reflexes.
Table Tennis competitions are grouped in standing, wheelchair, intellectual disability and visually impaired events with men and women competing individually as well as in pairs. Athletes from all disability groups participate and compete. One match consists of five sets, each being played until eleven points have been reached.
The Table Tennis classification system is comprised of 10 functional classification classes and one class for athletes with intellectual disability.
The rules set out by the International Table Tennis Federation also apply to the Paralympic Table Tennis competitions with slight modifications for some classifications.
